i think that Blackpool is the number one holiday resort. it would have been great if they could have got that casino in town to add to the other amazing attractions and sites around Blackpool.

Do not eat at lindys cafe/chippie she has the worst attitude an CHIPS in Blackpool, there is no toilet or customer service, not a bit child friendly or people friendly,I f you like frozen chips and fish that this is for u , other wise stay well clear. She needs to remember that it is us that keep her in buisness, the staff dont speak english NOT ONE WORD ! Eat at Mc donalds as it is only a stones throw away !!!!!!!

I now live in Canada. On my last visit to Blackpool, on my sister's 60th birthday, I said I must visit the Pleasure Beach, where I had spent hours of fun when I was growing up. Alas it was too early in the year, it was closed!. But I hope to return one day and once again tour the Pleasure Beach which will bring back so many, many happy memories. Loved the donkey rides on the beach too.

Try a nice walk down Central Drive at 2am.
Tim - 28/05/2007 00:29

Stay away from Blackpool at all costs. It's a nightmare - faded seaside town, full of chavs. Absolutely disgusting.
Andy W - 04/06/2007 10:29

Totally agree with Andy W. above. What a horrid place. I had the misfortune to visit on a night out last year, never felt so intimidated in all my life, full of louts.
Stretch - 25/06/2007 15:43

I live in Blackpool, and if i didn't it would certainly be lovely place to visit with the kids. The regeneration is really paying off. Caters for everyone.
Natalie - 26/06/2007 10:19

horses*** the people that do not like blackpool are the people that should stay away. they are the kind that give it a bad name.

Three years ago I visited England, something I had dreamt of doing for over 60 years, and my cousin who lives at Rochdale took me to Blackpool, how disappointed I was, my one ambition was to go and see that wonderful Ballrom in the Tower that I'd read so much about....she "had been there" she told me, and "it's not worth going," so I never saw it !! I have regretted to this day that I never said well, I am going in, you can wait for me !!
Apart from that, what a day I had, wonderful to see those places that my parents had told me about since I was a girl.......my mum was a Lancashire Lass and my dad a Yorkshire Lad...they met and married in Aust over 80 yrs ago !!
Raised a large family of little Aussies, and today our family numbers over 200 !! not a bad job between them eh, populated this corner of our country. Love the website, thankyou

its not blackpool thats a trash place its the scrubbers who visit just take a look on the prom at the oversized girls most are size 20 at least with size 12 clothes on but it does give you a laugh
- 01/08/2007 17:27

blackpool is not a nice place especially the lower prom i used to go fishing with my son but the place is overrun by gays scurring around like rats it is not nicefor a young lad to see this type of act menn flashing there headlights at each other then getting in each others cars is it normal or is it just me

- 18/08/2007 16:44

Go every year to Blackpool to watch the darts and love it although don't get to see much as either drunk or hung over. This year went back with my 5 year old nephew and did the lot. Friendly people, loads to see and do, we were never bored. Only wish I could have stayed longer.
Jac - 18/08/2007 18:29

Went to Blackpool on the way back from the Lake District - how i wish i had never bothered.

If you have never been to Blackpool you are missing out on nothing, amazing how bad one town can be - unbelievably repulsive!

Only really went to see the 'Pleasure Beach' but had to walk along the front to get there - it would be really difficult to imagine how anybody could make it worse.

Utterly beyond belief that anybody thinks that Blackpool has anything to offer - i was actually embarrassed.

With me was a Italian friend who couldn't believe that so many 'scumbags could be found in one place', i could not tell if these 'things' were locals or visitors.

Maybe someone can explain via this page -
Is it mandatory for 90% of Blackpools visitors to be grotesquely overweight?

have dire dress sense? (female 'things' if you are as fat as a pig you should stop wearing your 12 year old Daughters clothes)

Be satisfied with terrible service?

Have poor quality tattoos on you neck, head, face, hands?

Wear as much cheap tacky jewelry as is possible on your pork sausage fingers?
Why do these people think 3 or 4 nasty rings per finger looks good?

ANYBODY how is stupid enough to defend the stinking filthy dump that is Blackpool should try to open thier eyes next time they leave the special home.

There can be few places on earth more disapointing than Blackpool, my only advise to anybody unlucky enough to live there is to leave asap, before you to become on of the 'things' that roam the streets.

I would not vomit on Blackpool if it was hungry.

What a shame we cant just break off that piece of the coast and let it drift off and drown in its own chip fat.

More than 1000 people (English) leave this country every day - permanently, what a surprise!

Yes i will join them as soon as i can.
Steve - 28/08/2007 23:25

re your visit remarks i live in blackpool or the outskirts and it is not the locals you have seen it is obviosly the trippers come in winter and you will see a diffrent place and people there are a few slobs as there is in every town there are also many beautiful people i went on a trip to east london and i was the only white man there i turned around and came straight home i did not fancy getting robbed or mugged now that is a real dive i will never go near the place again
- 29/08/2007 19:50
