I always loved Bolton ... such an "honest" uncomplicated town with really honest people. Sadly I am disillusioned with recent local government. They do seem to have a really serious anti-car philosophy. No cars, no people. No people, no shoppers. No shoppers, no Bolton. Haven't they noticed all the shops are closing and Bolton is in its death throws. Judging by the harsh traffic warden regime apparently not. No, they would rather have another cycle lane and fewer shops. Its quite bizzare and I fear it may now be too late to save Bolton as everyone and their car is welcome at the out of town homogenious shopping centres. I now live in France. I miss Bolton and the Lake District immensely. For me there is nowhere in the world like Belmont and the Lakes. On the other hand I am British at heart and it has broken my heart to see what central and local government have done to my region and my county. I have had no choice but to leave.

brilliant market, i live in oldham but go to bolton shopping , like i said brill.

I moved away from Bolton with I was 13 to London and now at 27 I live in Australia. i love reliving my memories of Bolton and looking at Pictures of the places I ysed to hang about. there is no friendlier place in the world, its warmth and acceptance here. STAY THE SAME BOLTON.

i only lived in bolton for about 6months and deeply regret leaving there!!
im planning on moveing back up there shortly with my son,everyone is so friendly compared to down here (brighton)
i miss bolton so much!!

bolton was there three years ago i used to live in egerton was born there and moved to south austraila 46 years ago a great place to visit will come back.

Hi John, I used to live on Tattersal Ave (Johnson fold est) in the 70s-80s, went to the Cigarette Tunnel a lot in those days thanks for the memories
