Essex

As with any other county, Essex has it's good and bad sides. Essentially, it is a beautiful county with picturesque villages and stunning seascapes but it has paid the penalty for being close to East London by acting as an overspill area with the creation of 'new towns' such as Basildon and Harlow.
I would urge anyone who has only heard the derisive jokes of uneducated comedians, to visit Essex and find out for themselves what a beautiful county we have. Visit Maldon, Finchingfield,Writtle,Great Braxted and some of the more out of the way villages to seek out the true Essex or visit the promendade at Walton on the Naze or Frinton on Sea on a stormy December morning to see the dramatic seascape. Avoid the new towns 'like the plague' and your opinion of Essex will surely change.

Some villages in clacton to name but a few are not very friendly they are snoby dont like change very old fashioned their views what gets me is they are on commitees and there should be should be more things like discos in the village hall more for the youth they are also very nosy and dont talk to you

I have lived in essex all my life, and I can't think of a more depressing place to live,people don't talk to each other, crime is up, house prices are too expensive...i could go on all day, but i would get too depressed.

I used to live in a little town of Clacton on Sea,Essex down by the seaside.I loved it, made a lot of friends while I was working at Butlins Camp Resort. I miss the town and my old friends.I wonder how they are nowadays.Do you have a current photo of Clacton?

Sorry Helen We who live in Essex are not all Chavs !! Perhaps try living there, then you'll see how lovely it is..

We're not all CHAVS!! as you put it Helen. Some of us have style and are respectable members of the emergency services. And yes, the views are NICE unlike your opinions.

I enjoyed seeing the photos of Essex they brought back memories as I was born in Chingford. I have not been back there since 1978 but I hope to be there next year. Thanks for the memories.

Essex is the best place eva its my home town and south end is the place to be stop callin us all chavs coz we aint luv from essex girl and proud
